All About Mr. Lane I'm so excited to begin my 17th year teaching in Bennington, Vermont. I began as a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Catamount Elementary and I have many great Catamount memories. I transferred to Monument Elementary for the 2007-2008 school year, which was also my first year teaching second grade. Since then, I've been Monument's second grade teacher (though I did teach one year with a combination second and third grade class).
I was born and raised in Pittstown, New York (just over the state line) and I went to Tamarac High School in Brunswick. In 2000 I finished my undergraduate work at SUNY Albany after I started at SUNY Oswego. I finished my graduate degree at Albany's College of St. Rose in 2002. I now live in Eagle Mills, New York (near Troy, NY) with my wife Meredith Lee-Clark. We were married in the fall of 2015 after we bought our (old) home in the spring of 2014. In November 2018 we welcomed our first child, Wilbur George Lane! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing (mostly acoustic) music, seeing concerts and collecting vinyl records. I also love spending time outside in all of the beautiful seasons Vermont and New York present each year.
